Ramon Berrocal

Born in Bogota Colombia, studied at Escuela Fernando Sor, INCCA university and Drummers Collective in New York City where he took drums and rhythm section classes with drummers Peter Retzlaff, Ian Froman, pianist Jacob Sacks and bass player Sean Conly. With a solid foundation in groove and afro Colombian music, his time in New York got him closer to jazz and improvisation and shaped the way in which he articulates his diverse influences.
Ramon is a very active drummer, educator and promoter of creative music in Colombia, co founded the record label Colectivo Masai and is a regional representative for the Drummers Collective. He also teaches at INCCA University, Escuela Fernando Sor and Escuela De Bateristas in Bogota.
