Evan Hyde

Evan Hyde is a drummer, percussionist and composer based in New York City. Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Evan has performed alongside renowned jazz artists including Russell Malone, Freddy Cole, Houston Person, Stanley Jordan, Brian Lynch, and George Coleman. He was a member of Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead residency program in 2015, and was recognized as an honorable mention for ASCAP’s Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer awards in 2018. In December 2020, Evan released an EP of original songs entitled ‘Coda (Momento)’, and most recently he can be heard subbing in the percussion chair for ‘Hamilton’ on Broadway. As an educator, Evan has taught at Grand Rapids Community College, Kellogg Community College, University of Miami, and he is part of the teaching staff for the Keith Hall Summer Drum Intensive at Western Michigan University. Evan remains a high in-demand drummer and percussionist throughout the United States and abroad.
