Carlos López is one of the most restless musicians in Spain. He has led his own formation since 2006, with which he has released six albums and performed hundreds of performances at some of the main festivals and clubs in Europe.
Already with his first album “CLQ”, he won the first prize for Jazz composition, organized by the author foundation in 2006. Another of his works “Letters From Cøbenhavn”, was selected by El País in 2014 (main newspaper in Spain), as one of the leading albums of the new Spanish Jazz.
Carlos López has attend at some of the most prestigious music schools such as: Berklee College Of Music (Boston), Drummers Collective (New York), Taller de Musics and ESMUC (Barcelona), and the conservatories of Copenhagen, Berlin and Amsterdam.
His great versatility as a performer has led him to participate in numerous projects as a “sideman”, making international tours in which he accompanies artists such as Gilberto Gil, Jerry González, Javier Colina, Benny Green, The Last Minute Experience, Organic Collective, Bob Mover, Perico Sambeat, María Toro, Big Band Taller de Musics, 08001, Yul Ballesteros, Maciej Kadziela, Radio Raheem, Cachomundo, Desiree Diouf, Amy Winehouse Tribute, Gigi McFarlane, among many others.
Carlos is currently performing with the Clarence Bekker Band with which they release their latest album in 2020 and tour internationally as well as being the resident band at the prestigious Jamboree Jazz Club in Barcelona.
