Pancho Montañez

Pancho” Montanez. (Caracas, 1978), at the age of 14 he began to study drums in a particular way with Professor José Antonio Mato. From 1996 to 2005 he studied drums with Professor Andrés Briceño. In 2013 he obtained a Bachelor of Music at the Experimental University of the Arts. In 2015 he published his first record production entitled IMPROVISTO. He is accompanied on this recording by Heriberto Rojas (Bass), Jesús Azócar (Piano) and Juanma Trujillo (Guitar), and has the special participation of maestro Gerry Weil (Fender Rhodes) on the song “Problemas Paralelos”; together with Horacio Blanco they make “Moscas”, an original song by Desorden Público and with José Alejandro Delgado they make a duet of voice and drums on a poem titled “Mi nombre es…”. During 2015/2016 he studies Contemporary Performance Master Program at Berklee College of Music, Valencia Campus. In 2021 he made his second production entitled YEYA, accompanied by Ricardo Osorno (bass), Santi Peláez (guit), Dani Orts (piano) and Roqui Albero (trumpet); with international guests such as Roberto Quintero (percu), Amanda Querales (voice) Carolina Araoz (sax).
