Kamil Slezák (CZ) – drums and percussion player, was born on 14. April 1976
in Olomouc. He graduated from Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava, specialization
in drums and symphonic percussion instruments. After the studies he played in
Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra and several local jazz groups in Moravia. Since
1999- 2008 he had a steady engagement in the Moravian Philharmonic
Olomouc as a deputy head of the percussion department. At the same time
started a five- year programme ( jazzdrums) at the Universität fur Musik und
Darstellende Kunst in Vienna by prof. Fritz Ozmec. During the studies in Vienna,
he was offered a drum-chair in the Gustav Brom Bigband, he has been a
member of the band for eight years. In the year 2008 he started as a teacher at
Janáček Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Brno.
