Frederik Villmow (*1993 in Cologne) is a German jazz-drummer, living in Norway.
He studied jazz drums at Codarts University of Arts in Rotterdam and at Jazzlinja NTNU in Trondheim where he graduated with a Masters Degree.
He has had the privilege of working with such musicians as Tomas Franck,
Carl Winther, Vigleik Storaas, John Pål Inderberg, Alan Skidmore,
Mats Holmquist Big Band, Gabriel Pérez SoundTrip Orchestra feat. Chris Potter,
and many more.
Concert tours have brought him to The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, England, Ireland, Iceland, Finland, Estonia, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
In 2019, Frederik Villmow released his first debut album as a leader, recorded live at Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen and entitled
“Frederik Villmow Quartet feat. Tomas Franck – Live in Copenhagen”.
The Taiwanese Blue Lounge Records (Taipei/Taiwan) selected the album among Best Newcomer of 2019.
