Bolo Rakoto David (born in 1992) is a drummer and composer based in Antananarivo, Madagascar. He started to picked up the drumsticks and playing simple grooves on drums at the age of 6.
From the age of 12 Bolo started to be interest to the professional music life and taking a private drum lesson to study theories and practices. At the age of 17, he began to play on stage doing a jazz competition, from that, he was spotted by various artists in the fields of jazz, soul and pop.
The professional environement of music gave him opportunities to play with great musicians, artists around the world during national/ international festivals and tours : Mad’in Voyage, Kekko Fornarelli, Dominique Dipiazza, Bunny Brunel, Monika Njava, Fanaiky, Kenny Wesley, Samoela, Dago diamonds, Art’rindra, Radanz… . He recorded some album, EP, single with some of these artists.
As a composer, Bolo plays also his own songs and leads his own band: Bolo Rakoto David. He plays also some of his songs with Mad’in Voyage. By associating Jazz with the rythm and melody of his native country, his main objective in music is to make know the culture of Madagascar to the whole world.
