An honours graduate from The Victorian College of the Arts (Melbourne University), Josh is a versatile and in-demand drummer based in Melbourne, Australia. He studied under renowned drummers Graham Morgan, Danny Fischer, and Darryn Farrugia, and was awarded two university scholarships for excellence in performance and leadership in jazz.
In 2012, he won Australia’s Best Up-and-Coming Drummer at the Ultimate Drummers Weekend, leading to early endorsements with Pearl Drums and Zildjian Cymbals, as well as national recognition in music publications.
Josh has toured Europe, the U.S., and Asia extensively with acts including ARIA and Golden Guitar-nominated rock band Kingswood, with whom he completed Australia’s largest ongoing tour in 2023 (154 shows). His work with Kingswood includes recording at Nashville’s iconic Blackbird Studios, with chart-topping results—multiple singles holding #1 spots on Australian rock and country charts, and multiple Golden Guitar Award nominations. He has also toured with renowned Australian pop artist Shannen James, Actor Dan Hamill and original jazz fusion project Neon City Pilot who toured Europe and also took 1st prize in the Bucharest international Jazz competition.
A sought-after session musician and musical director, he also works with leading Australian artists such as Dan Hamill, Ruva Ngwenya (Tina: The Musical), and indie pop artist Shannen James. He is a dedicated educator and bandleader, with ongoing contributions to Melbourne’s jazz, rock and pop scenes.
