Based on the extensive research and data accumulated in the first six years of the ROF project we are now able to further expand our sound palette.
This is the culmination of the ROF project: Jet-Black Aluminum Alloy – with heightened responsiveness and superior impact as its primary characteristics.
The longer flanged bearing edge and matte black coat finish reduces overtones. The resultant sound has an emphasized mid-range and attack, with a shortened sustain.
The baseball bat type 3-positioning inner muffler comes standard – providing a further variety of sounds and enhanced playability.

I like the Aluminum Alloy Snare a lot!
It has a warm tone and - like every Canopus snare - it keeps the tuning pretty well!

For years I have been playing the Canopus Hammered Bronze Series Snare Drums (both 5.5x14 and 6.5x14). The sound, feel, articulation, and overall presence is like no other drum I`ve consistently played. This has been my sound since they arrived at my doorstep, and I don`t see a future where I`m playing anything else.
The 6x14 Aluminum Alloy Snare Drum has also been in the rotation for certain shows and record dates. This drum has an incredible amount of depth for how lightweight it is, and surprises me with its articulation and responsiveness. I feel this is a great example of an all around "work horse" kind of snare drum, one that should always be at the ready for any drummer to use.
