After studying jazz drums at the Conservatoire with Lille Regional Radiation (gold medal in 1994), he was awarded the Jazz Drum (1997) and the Jazz Improvisation Diploma (1999) at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de la Musique Music and Dance of Paris. That same year, a special mention of the jury was awarded to him at the National Jazz Competition in La Défense.
