Baptiste Guaréton is a jazz drummer and composer from Montluçon, France. After completing his studies in Tours, he frequently traveled to New York to learn from renowned drummers such as Joe Farnsworth, Dan Weiss, Dave King and Jochen Rueckert, while immersing himself in the vibrant New York jazz scene. Upon returning to France, deeply inspired by his time in the U.S., Baptiste founded his own band of compositions : Acirema Quartet with Bastien Weeger, Robin Schmidlin and Jasmine Lee.
His playing style and musical approach are influenced by drummers like Bill Stewart, Jochen Rueckert, Tony Williams, and Elvin Jones. Today, Baptiste performs regularly on the French jazz scene with projects such as Acirema Quartet, Züper Trio, and Adrien Colas Sextet and has also played with jazz musicians such as Cédric Piromalli, Rémi Dumoulin, Valentin Pommeray, David Salesse, Thibault Renou and Jean Baptiste Réhault…. He also teaches drums and rhythm at the Conservatory of Le Mans and Jazz à Tours.

Message to CANOPUS
As a jazz drummer, I’m constantly searching for the instrument that will let me express myself to the fullest. I’ve found that instrument in the Canopus NV60-M1. In this drum set, I rediscover the warm sound of the great 1960s jazz kits played by the masters, combined with modern reliability and craftsmanship. The build quality is astonishing, and when I play it, I feel absolutely no limitations. It tunes effortlessly and sounds incredible whether it’s tuned low or high. The sound quality remains amazingly consistent whether I’m playing pianissimo or very loud.
The 14x6.5 snare is remarkably efficient—precise, responsive, and adaptable to any musical context.
With this drum set, I’ve found the instrument of a lifetime, one that lets me express myself fully in improvisation without ever feeling held back.
