Born and raised in Miami, Jesus Gallimore comes from a family of musicians who play various instruments and professional settings. He began to play drums at 13, performing in churches and school ensembles throughout his formative years. Once in college, he branched out and started performing in different Jazz and Latin Jazz ensembles. Since then, he has been an active performer throughout South Florida as a bandleader and sideman. A graduate of FIU in 2021, he recently finished his graduate studies in Jazz Performance under the tutelage of Rodolfo Zuniga and Ludwig Afonso. Recently, he ventured into book writing and has written four books, with one of them being reviewed on Modern Drummer Magazine. Currently, Jesus is a DMA student at the University of Miami under the mentorship of Dafnis Prieto and recently completed a week tour in Oklahoma and Texas with the Frost “Extensions” vocal ensemble.
