It’s rare these days that I get too excited about new drum stuff but a friend swore by these snare wires and I thought I’d give them a try. I was instantly blown away at how much of a significant difference the Canopus strainers made to a few different drums I own. All the things I’m looking for in a strainer, such as, articulation, sensitivity, dynamics and overall fatness were improved. What struck me most about the wires is how the drum retains it’s crack in really loud backbeat situations. Typically, I find strainers tend to crap out, choke and get wonky sounding when hitting the snare really hard in live situations… these snare wires change all that… Amazing!
