About 10 years ago, Canopus worked with my husband, Mel Taylor, to make the wonderful signature model snare drum that he enjoyed playing so much. Mel and Usuda-san then began discussing the possibility of making a really high quality, perfection-oriented amplifier for members of The Ventures. This was a joint project that both Mel and Usuda-san wanted very much to bring about, in order to enhance the Ventures’ sound. After Mel Taylor passed away in 1996, the project was set aside for some years, but now it is wonderful to see that the promise made by Usuda-san to manufacture this new amplifier has finally happened.
