Dana Fitzsimons

DANA FITZSIMONS (Atlanta, GA, USA) is the drummer and bandleader of a critically acclaimed avant garde jazz trio featuring BMI Young Jazz Master Chris Otts on tenor saxophone and Patrick Arthur (Grüt, Morgan Guerrin) on guitar. Their debut recording “The Cheap Ensemble” was played on over 175 jazz radio stations. He is also part of a free jazz project with pianist, author, and educator Bill Graham and bassist Brandon Boone, leads the traditional jazz ensemble The Hot Club of Atlanta, and has performed with pianist Harris Simon and New Orleans singer Little Queenie. Dana also founded Blue Pickup Sessions, an Atlanta jazz venue created for hosting, capturing, and sharing performances of free and avant garde jazz and original improvised music.
