ECHO Jazz Award winning Bastian Juette, born in 1973 in Munich, studied Jazz
Drums at the Universities of Music in Munich and Mannheim.
Besides being very busy as a working musician Bastian is a renowned
EDUCATOR: He teaches at the Universities of Music in Munich and Wuerzburg.
By now, Bastian Juette recorded more than 70 CDs as a sideman, two as a
bandleader.
He plays in a lot of different groups and worked with MUSICIANS like Seamus Blake,
David Binney, Rick Margitza, Vincent Herring, Maria Schneider, Nguyên Lê, Don
Friedman, Ack von Rooyen, Michael Wollny, Johannes Enders, Adrian Mears,
Henning Sieverts, Frank Moebus, Klaus Doldinger, Jiggs Wiggham, the SWR and
HR Big Band…
Bastian played on many FESTIVALS like Jazzfestival Aalen, Northsea Jazz Festival
(NL), La Villette Paris (FR), Yokohama Jazzpromenade (JP), Jazz Baltica, Musica

In the meantime, Bastian could earn some important AWARDS : In 2010 he won the
“New German Jazz Award“ with the Tim Allhoff Trio, in 2016 he received this award
again with his own group, the Bastian Juette Quartet.
In 2013 he was awarded with the ECHO Jazz as Drummer of the Year in 2013.
