With a wide frequency range, comparable to a wooden shell, the Canopus’ Hammered Bronze snare combines the tonal depth and richness of our hammered shell with the power of bronze.

Our bronze shell combines the full, soft sound characteristics of copper with a hint of the crisp, high overtones of tin. The hammered finish controls the complex overtones and gives a richer tone. Despite being a metal shell, its sound character and response has the wide frequency range and tonal characteristics of a wooden snare drum.
The Hammered Bronze creates an overwhelming presence with its 6.5″ depth.

It`s a sensitive snare drum, with plenty of body and magnificent volume. It responds perfectly even when played very softly (pianissimo). For recording sessions or live shows, it`s an excellent choice.

For years I have been playing the Canopus Hammered Bronze Series Snare Drums (both 5.5x14 and 6.5x14). The sound, feel, articulation, and overall presence is like no other drum I`ve consistently played. This has been my sound since they arrived at my doorstep, and I don`t see a future where I`m playing anything else.
The 6x14 Aluminum Alloy Snare Drum has also been in the rotation for certain shows and record dates. This drum has an incredible amount of depth for how lightweight it is, and surprises me with its articulation and responsiveness. I feel this is a great example of an all around "work horse" kind of snare drum, one that should always be at the ready for any drummer to use.

I love it because it highlights the ghost notes and at high volume it is a solid and controlled drum.
The Patina Solid Brass is a high-volume snare, with controlled overtones and a wide tuning range.
