Tim Geldens

Nationality: Canada

Tim Geldens is a graduate of Australia’s most prestigious music university; The
Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he completed a 4 year Bachelor of Music in
Jazz Performance. At university he was under the tuition of Australian drummers
Andrew Dickeson and Simon Barker as well as renowned musicians- Mike Nock,
Dale Barlow, David Panichi, Judy Bailey and Steve Brien.

Tim has recently spent two months in New York studying with drumming greats such
as Kendrick Scott, Michael Carvin, John Riley, Rodney Green and Bob Moses. He
has also been fortunate to accompany workshops as part of his studies with touring
musicians such as guitarist; Peter Bernstein, saxophonist; Dick Oatts, pianist; Aaron
Golberg and bass player; Robert Hurst. He has already performed with many of
Australia’s finest jazz musicians including Dale Barlow (Art Blakey Jazz
Messengers), David Panichi (Buddy Rich Big band), Errol Buddle (Elvin Jones,
Tommy Flanagan) and Matt McMahon (Bobby Previte, Vince Jones). Currently Tim
performs at The Gregg Arthur Supper Club with internationally acclaimed vocalist
Gregg Arthur (Vincent Falcone, Gus Mancuso) as well as weekly residency with
pianist Chuck Yates (Carmen McRae – Australian Tour). Tim has been fortunate to
perform numerous occasions at the Sydney Opera House as well as various
international jazz festivals including Sydney Jazz Festivals, Melbourne Jazz Festival,
Noosa Jazz Festival, and Wangaratta Jazz Festival.
